Posted by Patty Campbell on 21st May 2020Įasy to install - put them on KraftMaid cabinets from 15 years ago and they worked perfectly. Love these hinges - very easy to retrofit older Kraftmaid cabinet doors with these. The missing 5th star is for the packaging - they arrived just loose in a box - undamaged - but the packaging could have been better. The hinges are great - easy to install and work perfectly. Posted by Patty Campbell on 11th Jun 2020 I am now remodeling a new home and will use Kraftmaid cabinets for a third time. This was my second purchase of Kraftmaid cabinets. Installing them is very easy - retrofitting my kitchen has been a joy. Overlay: Full Overlay Door Frame: 2 3/16' rails and 2 3/16' stiles Panel Style: Recessed. Wish they didn' t cost so much and could be purchased individually instead of pairs. The hinges are great and service is incredibly prompt - they arrive in just days. Posted by Patty Campbell on 24th Jul 2020 , even though no instructions came with purchase The spring closure broke on 1 of the hinges but it still closes correctly. If you can still get the hinges l would like to get a pair. The cabinet in question is a WAT2448R.LS Wall Angle Tambour. The hinges don' t reach far enough in to the opening when the door closes. They were not the same as the original hinges. The hinges that I ordered were the closest that I could find on your website. HALF OVERLAY Cabinetry designed with a 1/2' overlay door and drawer front leaves 2' of the cabinet frame exposed between the doors, creating a more traditional look. 3 The hinges worked good but they didn' t let the door cover the opening of the cabinet. Overlay FULL OVERLAY A full overlay door means there is very little cabinet frame showing around each door and drawer front, creating a living space with a modern, seamless appearance. Not hearing cabinet doors slam while we are all home now is an extra level of peace and quiet we all neeeded. Ordered the whisper quiet ones and we were so impressed with the difference that we switched out all of the hinges to this style. One of our hinges broke on our older cabinets. Some of the hinges are not closing as softly as others.

I'll use my second/backup computer account and test an audio export from there (wow, it's been a while since I last used my backup PC account, lol). It has to be something with Guitar Pro 7 itself on my computer or some other interference on my computer that I don't know of. That means that none of my guitar pro tab files are corrupted.
The only source I found contrary was that Homesteading Space book, written by a Redditor and published relatively recently. Well one day we made a mistake and for a whole orbit we all had our radios off!" Macduff ( talk) 01:03, (UTC) Most major newspapers, as well as multiple books, report this event as fact. We each signed up for an orbit as the radio-response guy. See Best quote attributed to Gibson: "In an effort to increase our efficiency, we occasionally would have only one of us listening to the voice traffic from the ground and responding to it while the other two of us turned off our radios and worked without interruption. Not sure of the best way to proceed regarding this article. This story originally appeared on legend of this purported "mutiny" has been debunked. And Schirra did all right too, even if he never returned to space: After leaving government work he saw success in the business world, and even became a TV spokesman for Actifed, the cold medicine he took during the mission. If more flexibility, better understanding and improved cold medicine are what it takes to keep crews happy, then they seem small prices to pay to ensure future missions to the moon, Mars or beyond remain mutiny-free.Īnd psychology aside, Apollo 7 was “ 101 percent successful,” as NASA puts it, paving the way for Apollo 8’s trip into lunar orbit and, eventually, a successful moon landing with Apollo 11. (They did get them 40 years later, albeit posthumously in two cases.)Īs a result of this and another “mini-mutiny” during NASA’s final Skylab mission, NASA began to take more seriously the psychological constraints astronauts face - a focus that continues to this day. None of the three crew members ever flew in space again, and while every other Apollo mission crew immediately received Distinguished Service Medals - NASA’s highest honor - Apollo 7’s crew did not. The crew did end up not wearing the helmets, and were just fine.īut their insubordination did not go unnoticed. So they simply refused to wear the helmets. They were particularly concerned that the changing pressures during re-entry would wreak havoc with their sinuses, possibly even bursting their ear drums. But Schirra and his crew had been relieving sinus pressure by pinching their noses and blowing their helmets, new models for the Apollo mission with no visor openings, would make this impossible. Every previous crewed re-entry and landing, during the Mercury and Gemini missions, required the astronauts to wear their helmets. I refuse to foul up our time lines this way.” (The crew did at least seem to enjoy their TV broadcast when the time came.)Īn even bigger breach of protocol came toward the end of the mission, and centered on the crew’s helmets. “We do not have the equipment out we have not had an opportunity to follow setting we have not eaten at this point,” Schirra said ( page 115 of the official voice transcriptions). Deke Slayton back on the ground tried to persuade him to squeeze in some camera time. When Schirra wanted to delay that first-time live TV broadcast so they could complete crucial mission tests, he met with resistance. Reporters soon noted the increasing “snappishness” of the crew in their conversations with mission control. A demanding work environment does not typically mix well with feeling awful. Remove() returns the element with priority 1. Start by inserting of all vertices (with its edges) from the graph inside the PQ. Other theories about what causes earthquake lights include static electricity produced by the fracturing of rock and radon emanation, among many others.Īt present there is no consensus among seismologists on the mechanism that causes earthquake lights, and scientists are still trying to unlock the mysteries of these outbursts.įreund hopes one day it might be possible to use earthquake lights, or the electric charge that causes them, in combination with other factors, to help forecast the approach of a major quake."Arrival of the King and Queen of Fairyland", E. The charges travel fast, at up to around 200 metres per second,” he explained in a 2014 article for The Conversation. “It’s like switching on a battery, generating electrical charges that can flow out of the stressed rocks into and through unstressed rocks. “Prior to earthquakes, huge volumes of rock - hundreds of thousands of cubic kilometers of rocks in the Earth’s crust - are being stressed and the stresses are causing shifting of the grain, the mineral grains relative (to) each other,” he added in an interview via video call. Rock is an insulator that, when mechanically stressed, becomes a semiconductor, he said. Antonio Liraįriedemann Freund, Derr’s collaborator and an adjunct professor at San Jose University and a former researcher at NASA Ames Research Center, has come up with one theory for earthquake lights.įreund explained that when certain defects or impurities in crystals in rocks are put under mechanical stress - such as during the build-up of tectonic stresses before or during a major earthquake - they instantly break apart and generate electricity. Moreover, earthquake lights were more likely to occur on or near rift valleys, places where - at some point in the past - Earth’s crust had been pulled apart, creating an elongated lowland region that lies between two higher blocks of land.Įarthquake lights spotted in Guayaquil, Ecuador, shine white. However, the 2014 study found that the vast majority of earthquakes linked to luminous phenomena occurred within tectonic plates, rather than at their boundaries. In most cases, the phenomenon was observed shortly before or during the seismic event, and it was visible up 600 kilometers (372.8 miles) from the quake epicenter.Įarthquakes, particularly powerful ones, are most likely to occur along or in the vicinity of the areas where tectonic plates meet. The researchers found that some 80% of the EQL occurrences studied were observed for earthquakes with magnitudes greater than 5.0. They shared their work in a 2014 paper published in the journal Seismological Research Letters. To better understand earthquake lights, Derr and his colleagues gathered information on 65 American and European earthquakes associated with trustworthy reports of earthquake lights dating back to 1600. They may also look like small flames flickering or creeping along or near the ground or larger flames emerging from the ground.Ī video taken in China shortly before the 2008 Sichuan earthquake shows luminous clouds floating in the sky. Other times they resemble glowing spheres floating midair. Sometimes, the lights may appear similar to ordinary lightning, or they may be like a luminous band in the atmosphere akin to polar aurora. “If you saw them nobody would believe what you saw.”Įarthquake lights can take several different forms, according to a chapter on the phenomenon coauthored by Derr and published in the 2019 edition of the Encyclopedia of Solid Earth Geophysics. “Forty years ago, it was impossible,” he said. Juan Antonio Lira Cacho, a physics professor at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos in Peru and the Pontifical Catholic University of Peru, who has studied the phenomenon, said cell phone video and the widespread use of security cameras has made studying earthquake lights easier. He said the recent video from Morocco shared online looked like the earthquake lights caught on security cameras during a 2007 quake in Pisco, Peru. “Seeing EQL depends on darkness and other favorability factors,” he explained in an email. He has coauthored several scientific papers on earthquake lights, or EQL. These outbursts of bright, dancing light in different colors have long puzzled scientists, and there’s still no consensus on what causes them, but they are “definitely real,” said John Derr, a retired geophysicist who used to work at the US Geological Survey. Reports of “earthquake lights,” like the ones seen in videos captured before Friday’s 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Morocco, go back centuries to ancient Greece. Devices susceptible to water droplets and sprays of moisture are commonly termed water-resistant devices, while those that can withstand complete immersion in water with increasing depth are termed waterproof.ĭevices rated as water-resistant are only suitable for activities like running and working out in gyms, while activities like swimming and showering require strictly waterproof devices. We often tend to confuse water-resistant devices with waterproof ones. More about IPX rating at the end of this article. The IPX rating is awarded to a device/material depending on its resistance towards water damage. IPX rating is the industry standard for waterproofing, ranging from IPX0 to IPX9. All this is okay, but how do you submerge your music with you to your swimming sessions? Well, your best bet is decent waterproof Bluetooth headphones.Ĭhoosing a decent pair of headphones for your swimming sessions can be a tough job as many considerations come into play. From distracting people from pain and fatigue, elevating one’s mood, to increase endurance, music has everything in its bag for you to explore. BMO Field offers a cozy, 27,000-seat venue near the lakefront that is such a nice place to spend a summer day that it was a huge part of the off-field success of Toronto FC even as the soccer team was a mess on it. The stadium, just by being Not the Rogers Centre, is the most important change. Lions owner David Braley did, as a favour to the league? What if the team was supported by a marketing campaign, with billboards and television advertisements, as opposed to the campaign of last season, which was a marketing push worthy of a speakeasy?Ĭan the defending champion Eskimos refocus under rookie coach? A look at CFL's West Division What if the Argos played in a cool, open-air stadium, instead of a two-thirds-empty Rogers Centre that often had all the charm of a grade-school band rehearsal? What if they had wealthy owners who were committed to the team and didn’t buy it, as B.C. It has to be the final attempt, because the move to BMO, under the new ownership of Larry Tanenbaum and Bell Media - two of the three parts of the MLSE conglomerate, minus Rogers Communications - represents the realization of every what-if scenario that has for years been floated by Argos boosters in the Toronto area, even as the team’s off-field fortunes sagged. But for the Argonauts, this season marks the start of life at BMO Field, and it is nothing short of the final attempt to make the team, and the CFL, truly relevant again in this city. So, a secure stadium lease would be something on its own. “For a lot of these guys, it’s a long time coming.” “It’s really great, it really is,” Milanovich says. After that, a whole schedule at one building, any building, with actual lockers and a training room and whatnot, must seem downright luxurious. Also not so great: a home date in Fort McMurray, or two more in Hamilton, in front of fewer than 4,000 fans. “It can be tough to look your players in the eye and tell them that they have to go play a home game in Ottawa when you’re fighting for the lead in the East,” Milanovich says. “It’s nice, it’s nice, yeah,” he says this week, almost sheepish about the good fortune that has befallen his team after years when a black cloud hovered permanently over it. The difference between having a home stadium, that is, and not a series of temporary shelters: the four different parks that were “home” for the Argos in 2015.Īnd so, the head coach smiles. It’s about the differences for the Toronto Argonauts between this season and last. TORONTO - The question has not yet been finished when Scott Milanovich starts to smile.
